WooCommerce plugin: Pay with Stripe for peptide stores

Install BrokkrPay on WordPress and your WooCommerce checkout gets a Pay with Stripe button: the shopper pays on Stripe Checkout, and the charge settles on your own Stripe account. A flat 2.5% plus Stripe’s standard rate for peptides and other high-risk verticals — no BrokkrPay setup fee, no BrokkrPay rolling reserve.

Who the plugin is for

Lawful high-risk stores running WooCommerce, where the official Stripe plugin either will not board you or will close the account at the first review. Every merchant is screened and underwritten individually; approval is not guaranteed.

Research peptide stores

The anchor vertical, and the reason this plugin exists. Research-use-only stores from $10k a month up, not just the $100k-plus accounts high-risk providers gate on.

Supplements & nootropics

Nutraceutical stores that mainstream aggregators list as restricted businesses.

SARMs & research compounds

Lawful research compounds, labelled and marketed for research use.

Licensed iGaming

Gaming and betting operators, in jurisdictions where the operator holds a licence.

What happens at your checkout

Three steps, and the shopper only ever sees two pages: yours, then Stripe’s.

01

Your shopper picks Pay with Stripe on your WooCommerce checkout.

The plugin registers a payment method like any other, on the classic checkout and on the block checkout that ships with new stores. Everything up to that click is your store: your cart, your prices, your branding.

02

BrokkrPay de-risks the transaction and sends them to Stripe Checkout.

The shopper lands on a Stripe-hosted checkout page and pays with Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. No card details ever touch your WordPress site, and there is no gateway to install behind it.

03

The funds settle to your own Stripe balance.

The charge runs on the Stripe account you connected, and Stripe pays out to your bank on its standard schedule. A signature-verified webhook — not the shopper returning to your site — is what marks the WooCommerce order paid.

Why not the official Stripe or WooPayments plugin

Because they board you without underwriting you, and the bill for that arrives later.

The Stripe for WooCommerce plugin and WooPayments both install cleanly on a peptide store and both take payments on day one. That is the trap. Stripe boards merchants automatically, so nothing checks the category until a review runs — and research peptides sit inside Stripe’s Restricted Businesses policy. When the review happens the account closes, commonly with the balance held for 90–180 days while disputes age out.

The BrokkrPay plugin is how you keep Stripe’s checkout without that outcome. The business is screened and approved before anything goes live, and BrokkrPay de-risks every transaction on the way to the charge, not just the first one. You never sign a new acquirer, and you never give up the Stripe account. The full policy detail is here.

Why not a high-risk merchant account plugin

The NMI, Authorize.net, and PayTrace plugins in this SERP are the WooCommerce front end of a merchant account. They work — you just pay for them twice, in rate and in held cash.

Merchant-account figures are typical industry ranges, not a quote from any named provider. Actual pricing, reserve terms, and underwriting timelines vary by acquirer.

BrokkrPay Inc is software: a checkout and de-risking layer that runs on your own Stripe account. It is not a bank, acquirer, ISO, PSP, money transmitter, or high-risk merchant-account broker, it issues no MID, and it never holds merchant funds. The longer comparison is on BrokkrPay vs a high-risk merchant account.

Installing it

Four steps, one API key. This is the abridged version — the full guide, the zip, the checksum, and the webhook detail live in your BrokkrPay dashboard.

  1. 1

    Upload and activate

In WordPress, Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin. Choose the zip from your BrokkrPay dashboard and activate it.

  2. 2

    Paste one API key

Under WooCommerce → Settings → Payments → BrokkrPay, paste the test key from your dashboard and save. The plugin registers its own webhook endpoint and collects the signing secret itself — there is nothing to copy back.

  3. 3

Enable it and place a test order

The payment method appears at checkout. Buy something on your own store with a test card; the order completes when the webhook lands.

  4. 4

Switch to live when you are approved

Paste the live key and set Environment to Live. Nothing else about the setup changes.

BrokkrPay for WooCommerce is not listed on WordPress.org or WooCommerce.com. It is distributed as a zip from your dashboard, with its SHA-256 published beside the download. Open the logged-in install guide for the download, the version matrix, and the webhook troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • WordPress 6.2 or newer, with WooCommerce 7.6 or newer and PHP 7.4 or newer. High-Performance Order Storage is supported.
  • A USD store currency. The payment method hides itself on a store in any other currency, and the plugin’s settings screen says so.
  • Anonymous REST calls to /wp-json/brokkrpay/v1/* allowed through security plugins and excluded from page caching — that path is how orders get confirmed.
  • For live charges: BrokkrPay approval, credits topped up, and your own Stripe account connected in the dashboard. Test mode needs none of that.

What it costs

The plugin is free. Processing is a flat 2.5% of volume to BrokkrPay, plus Stripe’s standard rate — about 2.9% + 30¢ on US cards, billed by Stripe as it always was.

  • No BrokkrPay setup fee, no monthly minimum, and no gateway fee.
  • No BrokkrPay rolling reserve. The money is in your Stripe balance from capture, and Stripe pays out to your bank on its usual schedule.
  • Same-day onboarding for approved merchants. Installing the plugin is not the same as being live: test charges work immediately, live charges wait on approval and your own connected Stripe account.

FAQ

WooCommerce, Stripe, and peptides: common questions

Can I use Stripe on WooCommerce to sell peptides?

Not through the official Stripe plugin. Research peptides sit inside Stripe’s Restricted Businesses policy, so that account processes normally until the first review closes it, commonly with the balance held 90–180 days. The keep-Stripe path is a different plugin: BrokkrPay adds a Pay with Stripe button to your WooCommerce checkout, the shopper pays on a Stripe Checkout page, BrokkrPay de-risks the transaction, and the charge settles on the Stripe account you connected.

Is BrokkrPay a WooCommerce payment gateway?

Inside WordPress it behaves like one: it registers a payment method under WooCommerce → Settings → Payments and appears on both the classic and the block checkout. Underneath it is not an acquirer. BrokkrPay Inc is software — it issues no merchant account, is not a bank, ISO, PSP, or money transmitter, and never holds your funds.

Do I need a high-risk merchant account?

No, and that is the point of the plugin. A high-risk merchant account replaces Stripe with a new MID at a new acquirer, at a typical 8–15% all-in with a 5–10% reserve held 90–180 days. BrokkrPay leaves your Stripe account exactly where it is and changes what reaches it, for a flat 2.5% plus Stripe’s standard rate and no BrokkrPay reserve.

Who holds the money?

You do. Every approved charge settles into the Stripe account you connected, and Stripe pays out to your own bank on its standard schedule. BrokkrPay never holds, routes, or takes custody of merchant funds, and takes no rolling reserve. Refunds happen in your own Stripe dashboard.

Does the official Stripe for WooCommerce plugin work for peptides?

It installs and it takes payments — which is exactly what makes it dangerous. Stripe boards merchants automatically with no underwriting, so nothing stops the store from processing until a review runs. When it does, the account closes with the balance commonly held for 90–180 days. Working on day one is not the same as surviving review.

How is this different from Peptide Payments, NMI, or Authorize.net plugins?

Those plugins are the WooCommerce front end of a high-risk merchant account: an acquirer underwrites you, issues a MID, prices the risk at a typical 8–15% all-in, and holds a reserve. BrokkrPay’s plugin is the front end of your own Stripe account. Same problem, structurally different answer — you keep Stripe, and the fee is a flat 2.5% plus Stripe’s standard rate.

Is there a WordPress.org listing?

No. The plugin is not listed on WordPress.org or WooCommerce.com. It is distributed as a zip from your BrokkrPay dashboard, with its SHA-256 published next to the download so you can verify what you installed, and you upload it through Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin like any other zip.

How long does it take to go live?

Installing and taking a test payment is a same-day job — upload the zip, paste your test key, place a test order. Live charges are a separate gate: BrokkrPay has to approve the business, your credits have to be topped up, and your own Stripe account has to be connected. Onboarding is same-day for approved merchants, and approval is not guaranteed.

Not on WooCommerce?

The same flow is one server-side API call on any stack — see the developer docs. The WordPress-level overview is on the WordPress plugin page.
