Stripe alternative

A Stripe alternative for peptides that does not replace Stripe.

Search this and you get a list of high-risk merchant accounts, because replacing Stripe is the traditional answer. There is a third option: keep the Stripe account and change what arrives at it. That is what BrokkrPay does.

The short answer

You do not have to give up Stripe to take card payments for research peptides. You cannot sign up for Stripe directly and sell them — that account closes at the first review. But you can keep your own Stripe account and put a de-risking checkout layer in front of it: a Pay with Stripe button in your checkout sends the customer straight to a Stripe Checkout page, BrokkrPay de-risks the transaction, and the charge settles to your own Stripe balance for a flat 2.5% plus Stripe’s standard rate. No new acquirer, no MID, no rolling reserve.

The three options, honestly

Two of these are on every list already. The third is the one this page exists to add.

Sign up for Stripe directly

Does not work. Research peptides fall under Stripe’s Restricted Businesses policy. Because signup is unreviewed, the account opens and processes normally — until the first review closes it, commonly with the balance held 90–180 days.

Replace Stripe with a high-risk merchant account

Works, and is what every “Stripe alternative for peptides” list recommends. A real acquirer underwrites you and issues your own MID. Expect a typical 8–15% all-in, a 5–10% reserve held 90–180 days, and one to four weeks of underwriting.

Keep Stripe, and change what reaches it

BrokkrPay screens the business up front, de-risks each transaction, and sends the customer from your checkout to a Stripe Checkout page — on your own Stripe account, for a flat 2.5% plus Stripe’s standard rate, with no reserve.

The full policy detail behind the first option — what Stripe’s restricted-business list actually says, why the account opens anyway, and how long funds are held when it closes — is on can you sell peptides on Stripe?

What it costs, against the alternative you are being sold

The BrokkrPay column is published pricing. The merchant-account column is the typical industry range, not a quote from any named provider.

What the integration looks like

One server-side call and a redirect. There is no gateway to install and no acquirer application in the path.

  • You connect your own Stripe account, and BrokkrPay approves the business.
  • You add a Pay with Stripe button to your checkout, or call the HTTP API for a checkout redirect URL.
  • Your customer goes directly to a Stripe Checkout page and pays with Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, or Google Pay.
  • BrokkrPay de-risks the transaction, and the charge runs on your own Stripe account.
  • A signed webhook confirms the order back to your store, and Stripe pays out to your bank on its standard schedule.

If you would rather invoice than redirect, BrokkrPay can email the customer the same payment link instead — but the redirect is the primary path. The parameter reference is on the developer docs.

Who this works for

Research-use-only peptide stores at $10,000–$50,000 a month are included, not just the $100,000-plus accounts many high-risk providers gate on. Every merchant is screened, has ownership verified, is checked against sanctions lists, and is underwritten individually. Onboarding is same-day for approved merchants. Approval is not guaranteed.

If your store runs WooCommerce

Then the integration is a plugin, not a MID and not code: upload the zip, paste one API key, and the Pay with Stripe method appears on your checkout. The WooCommerce plugin page has the abridged install and the requirements.

FAQ

Stripe alternatives for peptides: common questions

Is there a Stripe alternative for peptides that is not a high-risk merchant account?

Yes — that is exactly what BrokkrPay is. Nearly every list of “Stripe alternatives for peptides” names dedicated high-risk merchant-account providers, because replacing Stripe with a new acquirer is the traditional answer. BrokkrPay is the other option: you keep your own Stripe account, add a Pay with Stripe button to your checkout, and BrokkrPay de-risks the transaction and sends the customer to a Stripe Checkout page. The fee is a flat 2.5% plus Stripe’s standard rate, with no reserve.

Can I just sign up for Stripe myself and sell peptides?

No. Research peptides sit inside Stripe’s Restricted Businesses policy. Because Stripe boards merchants automatically with no underwriting, the account will open and process normally until something triggers a review — then it closes, commonly with the balance held for 90–180 days. Signing up unreviewed is the failure mode, not the solution.

How is this different from the peptide merchant accounts in every listicle?

Those are acquirers or the ISOs that sell for them. They replace Stripe with a new MID, price the risk at a typical 8–15% all-in, and hold a rolling reserve of 5–10% for 90–180 days. BrokkrPay replaces nothing: the charge runs on your Stripe account, the funds are yours from capture, and there is no BrokkrPay reserve. The two products solve the same problem in structurally different ways.

What monthly volume does this work at?

Research-use-only peptide stores at $10,000–$50,000 a month are included, not just the $100,000-plus accounts many high-risk providers gate on. Every merchant is underwritten individually, and onboarding is same-day for approved merchants.
